Due to poor soil conditions on this site, the pool is actually built suspended above a crawl space. This process was more expensive but greatly reduced the risk of future problems and related costs. The 120-foot stretch pool configuration is extremely versatile. With a stainless steel bulkhead spanning the length of the pool, different practice and diving configurations can be employed to maximize the number of student swimmers that utilize the pool simultaneously. The facility is adapted to have access to and share locker rooms with the adjacent athletic stadium structure. Between scheduled events for three high schools, other students and local community members may reserve the facility for various functions. The complex is also designed to play host to regional UIL swim meets.
